In 2025 GFA assisted the Clare County Road Comision with the design and construction engineering of this MDOT LAP project that included the full reconstruction of 3.18 miles of Colonville Road from S Eberhart Avenue to Brand Avenue, including the supersturcture replacement of the bridge over McCurran Creek. This project, completed by Anlaan Corporation, included widening the roadway to allow for safer passage by the local Amish community and increasing its cross section to meet Class A requirements. The failing bridge superstructure was replaced wiht 18-inch steel tub girders and a new concrete deck with aggregate epoxy overlay. Subcontractors for this project included J & N Construction, LLC, Action Traffic Maintenance, Rieth-Riley Construction, Flatrock Bridge Group, Diamond Concrete Sawing, and more. GFA assisted the Road Commission with the design and LAP programming of this project, as well as performed Construction Engineering duties for this project, including material testing. This project was one of the first local agency projects to use MDOT's new AASHTOWare system.
